The mission of Allen County Children Services is to protect children by supporting and strengthening families in partnership with the community.

The agency is mandated by law and committed to:

  • Investigating all reports of child abuse, neglect, or dependency.
  • Providing casework staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through emergency on-call services.
  • Responding to emergency situations in one hour when a child is reported to be at imminent risk.
  • Providing supportive services to children and their families to eliminate abuse and neglect of children.
  • Providing substitute care for abused, neglected and dependent children who cannot safely remain in their homes.
  • Providing permanent homes, through adoption, for those children who can never be reunited with their parents or legal custodian.
