About Us / Our Role
The mission of Allen County Children Services is to protect children by supporting and strengthening families in partnership with the community.
The agency is mandated by law and committed to:
- Investigating all reports of child abuse, neglect, or dependency.
- Providing casework staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through emergency on-call services.
- Responding to emergency situations in one hour when a child is reported to be at imminent risk.
- Providing supportive services to children and their families to eliminate abuse and neglect of children.
- Providing substitute care for abused, neglected and dependent children who cannot safely remain in their homes.
- Providing permanent homes, through adoption, for those children who can never be reunited with their parents or legal custodian.
